Robertpack installed an advanced palletizing cell equipped with a Yaskawa GP180 robot for the efficient handling of various product types.

We recently installed an advanced palletizing cell equipped with a Yaskawa GP180 robot at one of our clients' facilities. This installation is specifically designed for the efficient handling of open-top boxes containing up to two different types of products.

Automatic Palletizing with Label Scanner

The palletizing cell features a single box infeed, where boxes with labels on the egg cartons inside the open-top boxes are transported to the palletizer. A special label scanner automatically determines at which of the two palletizing positions the robot should place the box. The robot, equipped with a mechanical gripper, picks up the boxes and palletizes them in the correct position. If necessary, the robot can also add interlayers from a sheet dispenser to improve the stability of the pallet.

Flexible Pallet Infeed and Storage

The pallets are manually placed as a stack into a pallet destacker using a pallet truck, after which they are fed individually to the palletizer robot. The robot then picks up the pallet and places it in the correct position. This system allows for the simultaneous processing of two different product types, significantly increasing the flexibility and efficiency of the production line.

Safe and Controlled Pallet Processing

Once a pallet is fully palletized, it is moved out of the robot zone via conveyor belts, with the safety light curtain ensuring this is done safely. The palletized pallets can easily be removed from the palletizing cell using pallet trucks.
